5 September - Private Sales
We are busy working on a new addition to the website, which will allow you to upload property for sale without using an estate agent. Quite a few people have asked for this facility and we're sure it's going to be popular. However, it has prevented me from doing much renovation work.

8 September - Ceiling

I decide to batten off the section of ceiling that is missing its lath and plaster and then plasterboard and skim it.

11 September - Boarding

I have now put up all the plasterboard and my head is very sore as I was having to hold it up while I screwed it on. Next up I have to plaster it, but I may need a day or two to recover first...

15 September - Half plastered
I have skimmed half of the ceiling. My shoulders ache!

16 September - Butchery

I went to pick up some offal from three boar we have just bought for a few days of butchery next week, but when I got to the slaughterhouse they asked me to take the boar home as well since they were short of space. Since I don't have hanging space for them I've had to spend the afternoon cutting them into more manageable chunks to put in the fridges... instead of finishing my plastering.

19 September - Completely plastered
The ceiling is finished, the cornice is up and I've coated it with PVA ready for painting.

27 September - Pigging
We've spent the last few days butchering pigs, making various sausages and salamis, plus brawn, stock, faggots, wet and dry cured hams, guanciale, salted liver etc. All great fun though very hard work.
