6 October - Cornice and filling
I have put up new cornice and filled various holes and bashes around the walls.

10 October - Electrics
Since this room was previously a bathroom, and had a false ceiling, there is no working lighting or ring main circuit in here. I have enlisted the help of a local qualified electrician to install the new circuits. In the course of our investigations we discover that the lighting circuit is set up in a completely bizarre fashion for the entire floor, so we need to run a new circuit to all the lights.

20 October - Sockets

We are working round installing new sockets, and running new wiring under the floor boards. This also means we can add in some extra power points as currently we are very short in some rooms.

22 October - Planning
Yet more admin, searching for various things on the internet and phoning up potential suppliers. This can easily take up a whole day and at the end you feel like you haven't accomplished anything. My wife and I have decided to go on holiday this weekend to the Slow Food Festival in Turin - being held in the old Fiat factory made famous in the Italian Job. Our first hol in four years - can't wait!

28 October - Stuffed
We had a fantastic trip and have come back laden with produce and ideas for making better hams... Just need to do some exercise now to work off all the excess food.
