3 January - Carnage
We've had a house full over the festive season and are now clearing up and getting ready to continue with the renovations.

7 January - Bathroom demolition

I finally get some payback from all the people owing me days, as a friend assists me in removing an old bathroom and getting it ready for replacement. The chipboard on the floor is all soaked and rotten, so needs replacing too.

19 January - Plumbing
It has taken me far too long to work out the plumbing for the new waste pipes, and how to connect them into the existing soil stack. I have had to try three different approaches because the access is so poor, but have finally found a solution.

24 January - Spuds
We get some distraction from the house by going to Ryton in Coventry to buy our seed potatoes for the year. We also buy a whole load of seeds - almost makes it feel like Spring is round the corner...

30 January - Electrics
Before replacing the floor in the bathroom I take the opportunity to rewire the whole lighting circuit for the floor below, with my electrician. This proves more complex than it might be, as the original wiring seems to have no rhyme nor reason to its design. At last we have solved it and all the lights work again, plus are no doubt much safer.
